Portiani Hotel Milos Greece Offers Outstanding Value
The Greek Island of Milos has one of the most beautiful protected harbors in all of Greece. The horseshoe shaped Adamas harbor is ringed with restaurants, coffee shops and a beautiful marina.

The Hotel Portiani is front and center here, and this is where we stayed during our visit to Milos. The rooms are large as are the bathrooms by any standard. They are simply furnished and very clean, with anything you may need. Provided are a small refrigerator, coffee maker, water and basic cable in Greek if you’re so inclined. The internet connection was reasonably fast and reliable (3 channels), a pretty rare thing here. But my favorite offering was the included full Greek breakfast. Pastries, fresh juice, Cappuccino made to order, local honey and yogurt and all sorts of local dishes, and that watermelon pie is a must try (you’ll thank me later).

The Greek Breakfast is impressive
The indoor dining area is large, and also offers outdoor seating with the harbor and marina only feet away. The Greek breakfast that’s included with your stay, is a part of the Greek Breakfast Project. More than 600 hotels in Greece participate, in order to showcase everything local and Greek. The choices were amazing, fruit, local honey and yogurt, not to mention the pastries of every type, and for you meat eaters, yes there was plenty of protien to be had too. This is a great way to fuel up before heading out on a great Greek adventure. Owner Katerina sees that everything is in order, and was there everyday with a smile, making sure her guests are taken care of. Hotel Portiani carries a 2 star rating has a real family run feel to it, because it is. This is not a corporate giant where you feel lost, there’s always someone to help or answer any questions that you may have.
Hotel Portiani from Adamas Harbor Milos Greece
The rates here vary depending on the season, and range from €60 and up. Our room was considered a mountain view room, overlooking the town and some small shops. But the best part is just outside our door was a huge second floor veranda with tables and umbrellas overlooking Adamas harbor with all of the private and charter boats moored out front. These and more images of the hotel can be viewed in our full photo gallery.
Milos is a relaxed and casual island most of the time, but it can get pretty exciting when a football match is televised, the bars and outdoor restaurants in town fill up fast with cheering fans. I recommend that when planning your visit to Milos, be sure to stay at the Hotel Portiani, it’s totally central, clean, has a great breakfast to suit anybody and the owner and staff really let that Greek hospitality shine. But most of all this is an outstanding value, and with that included breakfast it will make for some great memories.
