An image of this drink was tweeted out just the other day by the Heathman Hotel Portland, and it caught my eye. So I asked via twitter if they would provide me the recipe for their Negroni, and being the Heathman Portland “Where service is still an art” they were gracious enough to give it to me to share with you. I think this drink would be perfect for the holiday season, and it sounds delicious too, so here we go…
This recipe is what you might call the large party version 72 ounces, and it can be reduced to fit your needs.
3 Cups Aviation Gin (A Portland product)
2 Cups Carpano Antica Vermouth
1 Cup Combier Pomplemousse
1 Cup Campari
2 Cups filtered water
To make: Combine all ingredients and stir, Prepare 5oz bottles and pour 4 1/2 ounces into the first, use this as a guide to fill the remaining bottles. Cap, date and store in the refrigerator.
Pour into chilled glasses and garnish with an orange peel. If you want to get fancy like the Heathman Portland, light the orange peel to release the essential oils and scent.
When visiting Portland, stop by the Heathman and have a Negroni for me at the Heathman Hotel Portland.
