Normally when you think B&B it conjures up a nice breakfast usually of the continental type. But here’s one of those secrets, Brewery Gulch offers the full monty, a menu of wonderful choices, cooked to order one of a kind omelets, and that “millionaires” bacon-perfect. Perched above the Pacific, the Inn has fantastic views, and is just a very short drive to the town of Mendocino. In fact if you’re up for it, the beach is also just a short walk or bike ride from the Inn. Our room in the lodge was spacious, clean and yes we did have that gorgeous view. Brewery Gulch has received many awards including a 4 diamond award from Triple A, and the certificate of excellence from TripAdvisor just to name two. Even with multiple awards the owners Guy and Sarah Pacurar couldn’t leave well enough alone, in fact here’s that other secret I want to share with you. And apparently hospitality runs very deep with these two Innkeepers, in fact here it comes, you get what they call a “light dinner buffet”. Again when I hear the word light I think cocktail franks, some sliced cheese a few rolls and a dipping sauce. Wrong again, if you have a look at the Gallery I’ve posted you’ll see that their version and my interpretation are polar opposites.
Grilled shrimp, fresh green beans and carrots, tomato and beet salad with fresh herbs and a pasta salad with fresh Mozzarella and cherry tomatoes, all prepared by their in house chef. It was really quite surprising, and I have to say welcome. Because after a long day of driving the last thing we wanted to do was venture out again and roll the dice on finding a good meal. We didn’t have to, Brewery Gulch Inn had taken care of that for us. The Inn almost always has something special going on, whether it’s about seasonal food, local wines or the season, so it’s worth your time to pay them a visit online, and then make your way up there for some true hospitality. http://www.brewerygulchinn.com/
